How to Prepare for your First Call Email

Goal: Create excitement, teach them what they should do to get the most of the call (ie, you drive the session, not the mentor, prepare questions, respect time, etc.).
Subject A: 📞 Your first call? (ACTION NEEDED)
Subject B: 📞 You’re almost there (Your First Call)

Hey {name} – I’m pumped you booked your first call.

But you’re not at the finish line yet.

I know – it’s easy to click that Book Now button, sit back, and wait for the magic to happen. 🧙‍♂️

But it just isn’t the case.

This phrase is such a cliché, but it’s said for a reason…

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”

{name} – I’m going to ask you to do a tiny amount of work, so you can get a massive amount of results.

I promise this won’t hurt 🙂

How to Make the Most of Your First Call

📝 Prepare Questions
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard about people go into a session with a mentor and “wing” it.

You’re setting yourself up for failure and frustration when you do this.

{name} – will you promise me something?

Will you sit down, get rid of distractions, and really think on what your challenges are right now?

Before the call happens.

Here’s a few questions to get your brain working on questions to ask relating to your struggles and challenges…

  • What’s stopping you from getting where you want, right now?
  • What is your biggest challenge with X? (X being what’s important right now)
  • What struggle do you think you’re about to face that you want to prepare for?

🏎 Understand you’re in the driver’s seat
{name}, you’re in control of the flow of the session.

Want to talk about sales? Cool!
Want to talk about marketing? That’s cool too!

But you’ve got to be the one to steer the conversation.

Yes, they’re the experts.

But they’re not mind readers. 🔮

So you’ve got to help them help you. 😃

The mentor values your time, which brings me to my next point.

⌚ Respect the time allotted

While we wish we could stop time and let our mentors give you all their wisdom…

…the world keeps turning.

Your mentor has other people just like you that they’re helping.

And they obviously aren’t doing this for free.

Time is money to everyone.

So, this is just a friendly reminder to be respectful of the time allotted for your session.

If you still have more questions, then just book another session.

Your mentor will be that much more eager to talk to you and help you – knowing that you respect their time.

And hey, one day, you might be the mentor who is renting their wisdom and time for money.

And that’s it {name}!

Do these few things, and I guarantee you’re going to see an exponential gain in the actionable insights you get out of each call.

Until next time,

Compound Value Email

Goal: persuade them that the 2nd call will be better than the 1st and the 3rd will be better than the 2nd, etc.
Subject A: 🤔 You had your first call, now what?
Subject B: 🔮 What’s next after the first call?

Hey {name} – Congrats on having your first call with your mentor.

I hope it was everything you wanted it to be and more.

I’ve got some good news and bad news for you though.

I’ll start with the bad news…

…you ready?

🧱 You’re going to get stuck again.

But here’s the good news.

👍 That’s okay.

It’s expected even.

For now, you’ve pulled back the curtain of success for your next steps.

Now you run with it.

🏃‍♂️ And you keep running until you hit another road block.

Because that’s what our mentors are here for.

To get you unstuck.

Once you book that 2nd call, it’s going to give you so much more value than the 1st call.

And the 3rd, will be so much more valuable than the 2nd.

📈 And so on…and so on…

Why is that?

Why does each subsequent call give you more value?

🥇 Because you’re playing the game at a higher level.

You’re pulling your level of knowledge up further and further to that of your mentor.

Conquering those roadblocks along the way.

👨‍🏫 Why does every good story have a master and an apprentice?

Because it’s the way that characters worthy of being written are made.

It’s how you – {name} – can achieve great heights.

I want to leave you with a quote that means a lot to me.

“A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you, than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you.” – Bob Proctor

Continually rooting for your success,
